I am here to challenge the binary gender, passionately working to document and create within the queer and indigenous feminist communities, document stories that need to be heard, and uplifting/empowering marginalized voices. My recent work creates at the intersection of queer identity and honoring ancestral indigeneity.
I've been really fortunate to have community with the non-normative folks that truly make me feel seen. There have been fewer instances working outside of these communities that leave me unheard and invisible. When working outside these communities, it's difficult to communicate when there's such a lack of understanding of the true history of [genocide and enslavement] this country stands for. Without that understanding, creating can't come from a place to cultivate positive changes.
