I’m lucky to be able to call a lot of photographers who inspire me my friends, but also have a whole roster of creators I feel like I’ve been cheering on from a distance for quite some time. Artists like Jimmy Kim, Michael Tessier, Nate Bajar, Gioncarlo Valentine, Laurant Chevalier, Daniel Dorsa, Juan Madrid, Amy Li, Brad Ogbanna, Graham Walzer, Mary Kang, and Heather Stern are all friends I’ve made over the years that CONSISTENTLY inspire me with the work they’ve been creating as their careers grow, and also makes me push myself to keep up with all their talent.
I’ve been working on multiple projects that ultimately are about family, community, and legacy. As photography becomes so easily accessible, and an over abundance of imagery via social media is constantly in front of us, I’ve been asking myself to look at what and who I love, and how can I translate the power of community to photographic work that will exist long after I am gone.
